The graphics still hold up today (7 years after it was released). I can not remember seeing in the cinema, and it was great. The side of the history of things, predictably, and more to the point, it was nothing like the final fantasy games. However, as a movie, is really responsible. It does not seem out of place compared to many other science fiction films. What is a great achievement, because it is fully cg, and is a great technological achievement. Unfortunately the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within Sci-Fi bombed financially, making it look bad. But now I think the bad financial history has given the DivX film Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within a bad review. His average at best, but much better than most comments make it seem. Another bonus is the fact that there are some well known Hollywood actors to voice the characters. It adds more quality to the film, which makes it more epic and hightens experience. If you have not seen this, and you like science fiction movies like Alien, for example, should enjoy this.

The animation was great, plot no. *** Minor spoiler *** The entire plot revolves around Gaia (the earth spirit) and other spirits and become one with the earth and the sad ghosts because they are foreigners who just needs to be understood. Or something. I stopped listening during the first 30 minutes and just enjoy the animation.

CGI is almost but not perfect, I think there are very few realistic movies with CGI, maybe "True lies", but, of course, Star Wars 1,2,3 NI NO Lord of the Rings. CGI effects are pretty good, but the script and voice acting is amazing and emotional. I always wonder why in the world all critical and non critical rate so high for Disney films, Lucas, Spielberg or recently "The Lord of the Rings" when most of them poor factory CGI, animation and worst terrible scripts and performances. Money is money and image is the image ... I strongly recommend this film: Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within to everyone who wants to have a good time. Best regards.
