Andrew Largeman shuffled through life in a lithium-induced coma until his mother's death inspired a vacation from the pills to see what might happen. A moderately successful TV actor living in Los Angeles, 'Large' hasn't been home to the Garden State in nine years. But even with 3,000 miles between them, he's been unable to escape his domineering father Gideon and the silencing effect he's had on his son from afar. Stunned to find himself in his hometown after such a long absence, Large finds old acquaintances around every corner living quite unique lives as gravediggers, fast food knights and the panderers of pyramid schemes. Meanwhile, at home, he does his best to avoid a long-simmering but inevitable confrontation with his father. By a twist of fate, Large meets Sam, a girl who is everything he isn't. A blast of color, hope and quirks, Sam becomes a sidekick who refuses to ride in his sidecar. Her warmth and fearlessness give Large the courage to open his heart to the joy and pain of the infinite abyss that is life.

It's amazing how many people in this movie: Garden State and what it receives high marks from IMDb. IMDb often use to help me choose the movies and in general, I think very significant qualifications. However, after seeing Garden State I am in the rare situation totally disagree with most of the revisions. I've been looking for clues into the evaluation, all I could have lost, but could not find anything to persuade me that this Garden State Drama is not the most boring, boring and useless garbage I've seen for a long time. Characters zero zero history of development. People stupidly acting in this film, frankly, especially the character of Sam (Natalie Portman), who is confused with being interesting rare - their antics are so frankly stupid. Largeman (Zach Braff) sleepwalks emotions through his role, you get the feeling that he really does not want to be there (which is surprising, given that it is their very own movie). I guess this is the idea of the character Largeman, but then why make a Garden State film about someone as insignificant as this? This generation will certainly not know that I am part of (as some comments seem to suggest). If something significant can be said about this DivX film Garden State is that it is a lot of interesting saddoes not appreciate the gift of life and I just do not know what to do with them.

Garden State is truly one of the worst films ever made. The degree of pretension, narcissism and superficiality appears in this amazing film, the overwrought "indie" music that he feels like a cell phone ad that just made everything worse. This DVD movie Garden State has become a new measure for determining whether a person thinks they are hip and know about the movie, or whether they are full of shit. I bet anyone who has had to endure the Garden State film school in the U.S. recognize nearly two thirds of the contents of the Garden State as a typical upper middle class white males in hand to movie: Garden State school for their first assignments in his writing class Screen 101. Always type the self-obsessed, but totally unworldly "stories" involving the suburbs of the anguish of America, where an alter ego plays a romantic lead to a peculiar kind girl who rescues him from his misanthropic world. There is always some kind of nonsense family matter "that leads to alienation, and the hero goes in search of a sense of community and a crew of only changed slightly unhip-types, with a soundtrack of SAPPY" metro "major label dreck. There's always a lot of camera work and sense the optical effects, typical things you see on TV ads and slow motion sequences to create "excitement", etc. It is worth seeing to laugh, but I really can not understand the life of me, the number of people who think there is anything of substance to this film.
