| This is my first comment on IMDb and I am sad it has to be a criticism of this movie. I wanted this Hellboy II: The Golden Army film is so good, and I can only say that from the opening sequence with the young guy who impressed me hell and bad slapstick and address that was used throughout the film. I felt like I was watching the men in black for most of the movie, the cheesy way they are introduced to the characters, the outrageous overacting and a severe lack of funny jokes. Does anyone laugh when a guy is beating hell by the type of fog with lockers? Do you not feel uncomfortable and as you went wrong with the Hellboy II: The Golden Army film the stupid love stories involved? Abe, for example, the princess falls in 01 seconds, and is expected to let it slide because the have a psychic connection. When Liz is pregnant and has to tell the boy hell bring him back to life I decided I would never see this DVD film Hellboy II: The Golden Army again. | I had the pleasure of seeing this last night at the Alamo Draft House screening not only with Guillermo del Toro and Mike Mignola, but Doug Jones also attended. I was a fan of del Toro's work before I got in Hellboy, but that was several years before the first movie. This is truly one of the finest marriages of both source and original material that could be expected. I felt the Hellboy II: The Golden Army Comedy movie surpassed the original. It's smart, funny, and visually impressive as you can expect from del Toro or any Mignolo. The large number and variety of the completion of the monsters, with the greatest emphasis is on puppetry and make-up, compared with more than a reliance on CGI, it's almost unbelievable in this day and age. The performances were first class. It is a bit strange to hear the voice of Doug Jones actually quit Abe Sapien in the first but I think it adds to the character and Seth McFarlane as the voice of Johann Krauss was a place of inspiration that bet paid off. Yet the best we can say that probably the strongest impact on the largest number of people is that I would pay to see this film: Hellboy II: The Golden Army again and I recommend it to all my friends, whatever their degree of familiarity to be or not are with Hellboy.
