As always, Alec Baldwin is good, but outshown by Michael Jai White and Andre Braugher, who plays the crime lord and his superior, respectively, lieutenant. Plays a bright white, but not as vicious crime Mr mobile upward aspirations. Braugher only the right notes of resignation shocked his head covered as "madness. Rebecca DeMornay is also a great character to play - a tough police detective who has seen it all, but still half step behind the action. There is a and lots of well-developed characters. The soundtrack also deserves special mention (no pun intended). You've seen all the Tarantino and Tarantino-esque movies, and is looking for more, this Thick as Thieves film might fit the bill. |

| This ranks up there with "Freeway" and "Truth or Consequences, NM" in that it is pleasant surprises. These films with semi-interesting covers in the video store that chck on a whim. Those who really know nothing about, and sit there slack-jawed half of the movie: Thick as Thieves wondering if he can remain really good until the end, and then when you almost shiz actually is. This was one of them. I only learned about the Sundance Film Guide, and rented through Netflix. She knew that Alec Baldwin was the star, but can be good or bad ... that was about it. Now they are not going to expect some kind of The English Patient granduer - rental only friggin 'movie, eat your salty snack, Icey savor the drink, and enjoy a good Thick as Thieves Crime film of crime. I had never heard of the director, so I looked up to him ... Nothing. he has done nothing more, and has nothing in the can. I find this type, which together cause a very smooth, nearly perfect film. Alec was in excellent shape. The players did a great job. The plot and sub plots were timely and substantial. Just the right amount of humor as well. Now I have to wait another year or so for my next pleasant surprise. Rating: A |
