| While it may seem very stupid BLUE STEEL today - a woman from New York police rookie (Jamie Lee Curtis, no less) falls for a serial murderer was stockbrokers (the always soft and casualty Ron Silver), who is stalking her -- at the time, was quite shocking for its R-rated violence and sickie nuances of the short story of love between police and murderer. The story begins quite plausible: Curtis faces a robber in a convenience store, beating a kingdom, and Silver, a client, the bad guy grabs the gun, escapes out, and begins to use on people at random under the name of the police recorded on each bullet. Meanwhile, the procession starts unsuspecting Silver Curtis. Soon, however, fall into the land of implausibility, as Curtis discovers the truth and is very slippery several tussles with the silver. All this leads to a ridiculous shooting, but in the end, and apparently the Blue Steel Drama movie was largely shot in New York City, a plus for any movie. Directed by the girl who gave us the NEAR DARK, Kathryn Bigelow, I do not think a male director could have given this type of twistiness same. But it is still not what they call a classic, such as Death Wish or The French Connection and Bullitt. If you like the bloody shooting, go for it. That's why I have seen again recently. And do not get me wrong: I love Jamie Lee in almost anything, but this was not the DivX film Blue Steel for her. A young Clancy Brown is listed as its leader. |
