| "Deep Impact" was better than the 1998 coup, "Armageddon", for many reasons. # 1 .- The President was better in "Deep Impact". # 2 .- (part of) the Comet really hit the Earth in "Deep Impact". # 3 .- The man, who was AWESOME Tsumani !!!!( I like the way that destroyed the city of New York) .- # 4 "Deep Impact" is more realistic, because first of all, how can less save us from some idiots Doomsday? (As in "Armageddon"). Secondly, I think it is hard to believe that an attempt, it could completely destroy a comet, in his words, the size of Texas. Especially in a single attempt. (Just like what happened in "Armageddon") Sure, there were some errors in "Deep Impact", but at least I can count on all of them. (Unlike "Armageddon"!) "Deep Impact" all the way! | I read a comment by another reviewer on IMDb. It is the first time I agree 100% percent with another reviewer. He said: 5.9? I can not believe that. I know that disasters are often trash films as The Day After Tomorrow, Armageddon, Godzilla, Independence Day, etc. However, this is not garbage. Boasted a fine cast that did a great job highlighting Morgan Freeman and Robert Duvall. The rest of the cast, but did quite well. The story was handled in a fairly realistic and not require me to roll my eyes in many plot contrivances how the others have done. The only major flaw for me was the casting of Téa Leoni. The actress was generally very reliable soft in this film. She has done a lot better job in his career. Although this ruling is another movie: Deep Impact that for some reason it is highly valued by .......... For this, I have nothing to add. |

| I did not see it in the theater because of the negative comments and feedback. I do not buy the DVD because of the negative reviews and comments. February 2.1999 today, finally rented and watched "Deep Impact." Wow, I'm not wrong to wait so long to see the film. I thought it was a great movie. Do not miss it. The most annoying problem for our world is fragile. We are ants on a child in the sandbox, pending certain destruction - unless, that is, we acknowledge our blindness and shortsightedness begin to think about issues larger than the news of the shooting last 11 hours. Yes, it is true that a cosmic event like comet impact is unlikely to occur in our lives. No, it's not something we can relegate to the inevitable act of god status. We are thinking, be aware - of much greater value than the crows and the lilies of the land they share with us. As such, we must make use of our cognitive abilities to have a more secure existence. Astronomy and mathematics, a day could identify each and every cosmological disasters in the future of our planet. Quantum mechanics and physics could allow a day with us and our biosphere simply move to another planet. Out goal is sophisticated existence, life in nature. If you do not move quickly on this, will be the greatest insult to our ancestors scientists, from Galileo to Einstein. Now that is what I call a good movie. |
| This is a more realistic and reflective of what would happen if humanity can detect an asteroid that could cause devastation to other films of this type - for example Armageddon.
