A mysterious gunfighter without a name rides across the desert landscape and arrives in the mining town beside the sea 'Lago' to stay for the night. After gunning down three desperado's who tried to kill him, the town hires the gunfighter to help defend the town from three murderous outlaws, Stacey Bridges, Bill Borders and Cole Carlin who have been released from jail after they brutally whipped to death the town's local lawman Marshal Jim Duncan who is in his grave with a unmarked gravestone, the three outlaws set out to return to 'Lago' to get their vengeance. Can the mysterious gunfighter without a name stop the three outlaws?

Most people are turned off by this High Plains Drifter movie because it will not surrender to the audience. The High Plains Drifter Western movie does not let people like the characters, but I think that's the major element of this movie. This town is full of cowards and no one (except dwarf) deserves to be rescued. See more West are undeniably adorable characters who deserve to be saved from corruption. Eastwood takes this DivX film High Plains Drifter into a twisted, unique direction. Someone here said it does not seem to have supernatural elements in it. I disagree. At the end of Eastwood was asked about the dwarf who was Billy Curtis. Eastwood said that he knew. Billy then looked down at the tombstone of the dead sheriff who was killed by three robbers. Eastwood then disappear into the mist as the sun walks outside the city of Lago (at the conclusion of the film) with the disturbing background music. I liked the High Plains Drifter movie pitch dark and thought this was more than a western. It had the elements of thriller, too. Another part of the DVD film High Plains Drifter adds to its aura supernatural Eastwood remembers is when the sheriff's whipping death at the hands of three bandits (Eastwood does not even exist, how would he know). This has detractors as it can be very off-putting and very violent. But it is still very new and chilling. 10/10.
