Horrible, terrible, terrible - from script to casting purposes. Should be a surprise considering the director announced in the past that in his opinion, the book gives a good film: Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The material, and you do not like fantasy / children 's films to get started? Do you collect them in the final after all ride the wave of Harry Potter? Announcing at the same time that changed the script of a young British boy American boy older to avoid another of Harry ... Well, the book series by Susan Cooper increasing the dark sequence was written long before Harry Potter and all the material for a good movie. If you like Great Britain. Its landscape and people. And history, as the substance of the book is the legend of King Arthur. Unfortunately, the original book has been butchered to the point that the story is unrecognizable. Not necessarily make a bad movie, just different. However, in this case, following the massacre, the story makes no sense, lacks depth and is a disappointment from A to Z, the director tries to hide with the economic and repetitive and lame angles shooting. Save yourself the drama of the registration and the ticket of the wonderful books by Susan Cooper instead. |
If you read the book, the Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The film pass. If you have not read the book, the DVD film Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The continues to jump. I saw this with a group in which some of us have read the book and some of us had not. Everyone liked it. The story was confusing, disjointed, and ultimately futile. Even if you had read the book, it seems that the writer is taking scenes from Harry Potter, Fifth Element scenes and some scenes from the original novel by Cooper after patches at once. This led to an inconsistent story. The biggest question is that when they were telling the story in the book? In an episode of "all things considered" on NPR, screenwriter John Hodge said he was trying to distance this film: Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The from Harry Potter. If so, he failed miserably, because the enormous changes made this more like a bad blow-off of Harry Potter film. In the NPR interview, it appears that Ms. Cooper had little or no input in the film. I suspect that the filmmakers are trying to make a Harry Potter-like Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The movie in the history of Susan Cooper, which could prevent the infringement of copyright. Unfortunately, they are trying to fit a square peg into round hole and it did not work. |
Seldom have I been so disappointed, I actually left the DivX Movie Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The halfway through, not caring how they end this debacle. With such a rich text to extract, in this DivX film Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The could have been impressive, the plot is pathetic, the characterization of all evil, dialogue cliché nonsense, what were they thinking. Why they had to change the settings outside the Celtic mythology and Saxon have no idea. Whole heart and soul is not in the story. All involved in the production of this DVD film Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The should be completely ashamed of themselves, they have chopped off a valuable thousands of childhood memories of the people-squeezing ass in this DVD movie Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The sauce. |
As one fantasy film: Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The for children, I give this one a 6. (Although I do not think that I recommended for children under 4th grade or so - there were some pretty scary). Christopher Eccelson I thought did a good job as the rider. The elements of good and evil were to see very well marked. The action, however, went too fast. Zip is a sign to sign and no one really explained why he was "Search." The May issue has been too hectic. The former were not very well, which left me a bit confused. Growling dogs in the show will go blurry and television, but do not explain why. Even with the confusion and turmoil of editing, I believe that for children who have never read the books, could be a fun DVD movie Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The to see - and possibly lead in the books. That said ..... I am a big fan of the books and I am personally disappointed in how much has been changed. Walden felt I had a wonderful opportunity for this Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The film for the wealth of Cooper's books to life - but all the timeless qualities of his book have been this day part. The magic of the lovers of the Stanton family, the small English village life, Arthurian legend and Celtic tradition and have lost their place in a shopping center is the lack of a double and a brother owned. What happened to Herne the Hunter? The old ways? Huntercombe Way? The farm? The Lady? The Walker? However I think the best we can say is that it could have been worse! |
I'm quick to love movies, especially those in Britain. This can not be me if I had to pull a rope around my neck. The actors in this DivX film Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The does not deserve any ire. They did the best we were told to do. The participation of over-emoting and false drama. For the director deserves horrible ratings. The real villain of this DVD film Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The is the writer. Now, I have not read the book, I pray that it is better than this waste of an hour and 39 minutes. Although if the script is based on the book, it is probably 26 pages long. The dialogue was not enough, there was a hint of suspense. Everything ran away or said another character. I give credit to the producer, the money spent on players is probably worth it I think there was some integrity because of the actors (I was wrong). Although in the future should spend more on rewrites. The writer does not have to work with the pen again. It would be better that way. Do not spend money on it. Take time to find a place that is still showing the company, if it is 2 counties away, yet it is worth subjecting your self to this terrible "coming of age" fiasco. I want my money. |
I first came across this sequence of books as an eleven-year-old myself, in 1980, 7 years after the book on which the eponymous book was published. The story and writing style is a breath of fresh air and the book, "The darkness is rising" quickly became my favorite reading. Even now, 27 years later, has lost none of its appeal and my children are enjoying too. The secret of success is how you create the magic of non-stereotyped assistants (to Harry Potter), but outside the honest description of the events that unfold in Stanton Va. The description of his village and the countryside and how they change as he develops. Above all, it is quintessentially English and very far from being a date that is timeless masterpiece as relevant to children today as 30 years ago. The interweaving of Arthurian legend in local folklore Chiltern do not need special effects and the story itself is perfect for a Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The Thriller film without plot changes. So, to make a Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The film that changes as characters, the omission of some, others are radically modified, the change of the whole substance of the will of the family is unforgivable. The casting is poor - Ian McShane no Merriman. Avoid this like the plague - it should have been a film: Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, The to introduce a new generation of readers masterpiece Susan Coopers (a sequence that shows the books of JK Rowling in the Potter saga, the scum that is). How sad to lose this opportunity |
