Disney? What happened? I really wish the DivX film Wrinkle in Time, A had been set in the'60s, like the book was. And I could have dealt with cheap special effects to save the budget for a more precise alignment ..... I am glad that maybe somebody might be influenced to read books ..... But the man with red eyes as interchangeable IT? What about volcanic unrest? Where was that in the book? Peter Jackson! Save us! A long time ago (1978) I have heard that there is European version of this movie. Of course, I wish it could id it. I can only imagine that it could be closer to the true story of a poor adaptation. This Wrinkle in Time, A movie has to be x'D. |
This line of ABC-TV requires absolutely no justice to the brilliant fantasy novel is a wrinkle in time. Ms. Madeleine L'Engle that adults and children in a magical, fantastic and original world as no author before her. This novel, the first time in his quartet, is a beautiful take on life, the universe and time itself. However, it is easy for any child or adolescent to understand. Unwaivering morale are common in throughout the book. This Wrinkle in Time, A movie adaptation can be seen as nothing more than a mockery of Ms. L'Engle's artwork. Honestly, what were they thinking? The economic impact and look ridiculous, the plot is uneven and sentimental, the dialogue is exaggerated and almost all of the magic of the novel has been lost. This was a horrible attempt to bring this book to the screen. I sincerely hope that some day a smart, decent director (Guillermo del Toro, David Yates, Alfonso Cuarón) makes another attempt to bring this book to the screen and as you understand what really is a masterpiece. This adaptation can only be compared to boring, fake and cheap motel room art that has the soil and does absolutely no impact on its audience. |
To begin with I would say I am a big fan of the book and was dying to see the TV movie, but I was preparing for a big drop, especially when I saw Meg had no keys / glasses that had come to associate with it . But guess what? I do not disappoint at all. It exceeded my expectations tremendously. The acting was phenomenal, David Dorfman was the perfect Katie and Charles Wallace was a brilliant Meg Stuart, Gregory Smith and Calvin was a great (in more ways then one * Drool *) the only thing I liked was Mrs. Murry she hopes, but the part that is about it. How to handle the arrival of Mrs. Whatsit in the middle of the night's storm threw me off, and I did not like the way it was not developed around his character. The burners of the cooking is not natural genius Bunso dinner mothers were portrayed. I could not put both, but I was a little dissaponted. Also, the physical appearance of both Meg and Calvin were completely different from the original story, but I will take the example of Aunt Beast's book and say "This is nothing but to see how things are" Fans of the book I love this movie, people who have not read the book I love this movie, but please read the book first! |
True, L'Engle's book is much better. The Wrinkle in Time, A Sci-Fi movie itself was not so bad. I was quite pleased to see that Mrs. Whatsit was presented as the winged creature in a very satisfactory way. It was almost as if it pulls the image from my mind! Alfre Woodard was excellent Mrs., but she is excellent in everything. I was disappointed by parts, as the man with red eyes and aunt beast ... and the end was just as unsatisfactory. While I was a little upset by the changes, I would be happy to see the other three in the Time Quartet (A wind in the door, a tilt quickly Planet, Many Waters) will be submitted to the film. It might be better than it did in New Line instead of Disney, but ... |
The book is so good that at least the opening of this Wrinkle in Time, A Sci-Fi movie made for television that moves, but then, as it increasingly diverges from the book, with all the love and religion and mathematics and entry into cotton clichés sugar, it becomes boring. However, the comments I heard, people who have not read the book tend to like, and even if it leads children to read a wrinkle in time, will have served its purpose. Change is the most embarrassing for a clone of Mary Poppins' Uncle Albert (I love to laugh). Nothing is as twisted as the induction of the characters on the screen laughing hilariously things that are totally unfunny. |
My sister and I were ecstatic when we realized they were playing it. We took time out of our busy end of the week to sit and watch everything. And while that kept us entertained throughout the 3 hours, there was a lot of times we were like "that was in the book? Where are they getting these things?" So I guess my advice is, if you're a purist of the book, try to forget this is based on it and enjoy the beauty of the piece is fluff. The book is a whole different (and better) experience. A movie. I think Gregory Smith as Calvin was good (although not redhead) and the child was too good. Meg was a little forced what I thought. Perhaps the inexperience of the actress, but she did not feel warm but as the third book of Meg. Overall, this is an enjoyable experience. |
