| While this Kokoda film is not without flaws, is definitely worth seeing. I found the dialogue hard to distinguish at times, and the plot takes some sorting, but the images work to stunning effect. This is a Kokoda Drama film that evokes a visceral (if not gut-wrenching) response, one that takes the viewer closer to the understanding of nerve-jangling, terrifying experience of war and the strength to endure. Grierson starting point are the words of the Isurava Memorial. Was the "courage, mateship, endurance and sacrifice" of children and men of the 39th, 2/14th and 2/16th battalions that bound ordinary people, with a force stronger than the combined effects of circumstances and the Japanese army. The Kokoda Drama film is in its graphical representation of the requirements to make the environment physically. Although while watching it can not feel the strength of the Jungle sapping humidity or smell the stench of battle and its consequences, which is on the left, no doubt about the challenges in human bodies for dysentery and malaria. This is not the glorification of war, but the grim and gritty reality. Seeing the movie: Kokoda will help you appreciate the efforts of those who were there. |
| This DVD movie Kokoda is a true revelation. Gives a good overview of what 1 person would have to fight the disease, not long, hard ground for movement and a strong enemy. (super Aussies 10-1) Throughout the DVD movie Kokoda there are great camera angles and cinematography. While most actors are mostly unknown, they do a great job of acting. Some scenes are very graphic, so that people are not accustomed to seeing blood spurting, you probably should not see this. In Australia this Kokoda Drama film M15 +, but for Americans who wonder what is the classification, R is probably a good estimate. All in all a good film, 7.3 out of ten. |
