| A little twisted DVD film Little Voice about a shy young man brutally (LV), a dominant mother cliche come to life, a ball of mud and the agent (of course) a little strange, however, type hero (?) Played by figure anything Unless Ewen McGregor, Little Voice is well worth the rent. This Little Voice movie is absurd, dark, funny, sometimes dramatic and heart wrenching. A little compassion you a long way to enjoy it. The roles are played by talented actors very well, fascinating in its small turbulent world. If you like your movies off the wall, this is the Little Voice movie for you. If you prefer to just incorporate things Hollywood, get away! |
| An interesting aspect of this film, beyond the extraordinary results of all the members of his cast, great music, fascinating characters, which is full of symbolism of birds. Billy, the character of Ewan McGregor, is obsessed with pigeons, but it really is a quiet type, and he has a crush on LV, attracted by its silence. She becomes his "bird." LV live in a sad, lonely world with his oppressive mother, saddened by the loss of his father, obsessed with his father registries. She can sing, and is forced to sing on stage (= singing bird cage phase). Ray (Michael Cane) convinces him that even blue timid birds can sing. She brave the cage from memory of his father. Billy Duane is upset that he has not come home with him, although he admits that his freedom like the birds. He is the only one not trying to exploit it, seeking to protect his mother LV, maintenance of the cage, the cage of their savings (when it bursts into flames, burning his records - leaving). Then, she realizes her father is gone, and she is living a life in death. In the end, she helps Billy the performance of their birds, knowing that they will return to the comfort of the cage, which is not bad if you choose. It is a very interesting film: Little Voice that works on many levels. It really captures a personality, a calm and quiet beauty that is not usually seen on the screen. |
| Jane Horrocks! wow - I had no idea that she is a great mimic. I was a little drunk while watching this film, and means that were obtained using the original voices of singers such as Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland etc. I smell andalusia gob - the closure of that title 'Jane Horrocks made all her own songs " . .. Christ on crutches for his gift to call "talent" is a farce. Anyway .. about the film. The acting is mostly excellent (apart from the mother of LV going over the top in parts .. but she manages to make you feel really cringe and despair). Michael Caine is a very dirty minded but pleasant character actor (the man is a god - see 'Get Carter "). I felt really bad about LV - an introverted and agonisingly sweet girl with an amazing ability to imitate other singers. Thank God Jane Horrocks is not as shy as the character portrayed in this DVD film Little Voice - would be a shame if your gift has never been exposed in this way. |
| This is a wonderful movie: Little Voice that shows not only music but also a comprehensive list of powerful performances. Each is excellent, but the most subtle of all the two of them to steal the show. Jane Horrocks has been shown to be much more than just bubbles, airheaded secretary AbFab. She is more than a match for all other powerful actor on the screen, and taking into account their co-stars rather than an achievement. His wonderful chemistry with Ewan McGregor is remarkable, the story of his characters might have made a soft, beautiful love story in itself, but as is her attraction gives hope for both smooth, quiet character. I wished that more attention be paid to McGregor's character, but that could simply be due to the fact that McGregor is concerned, may not be enough. Michael Caine deserves his Golden Globe. Seen their role is undeniable, never carried too far. This performance is another example of his versatility and his formidable presence on stage. Brenda Blethyn has become one of my favorite actors since I saw Secrets & Lies, in this case, she is a mother torn apart, living in a dream world, but with added layers of violence and neglect of her only son. She can speak volumes with their densely black eye-shade and a ubiquitous cigarette. Never get the full story on her relationship with her late husband, LV beloved father, but the tension and not the words that are brought to a boil in a key scene between Blethyn and Horrocks. Come on Oscar, it would be wonderful to see recognition for Little Voice. |
| * POSSIBLE SPOILERS * After all the brilliant reviews, I finally had the chance to see the DVD. Jane Horrocks performance was impressive, but the rest of the Little Voice movie did not meet with her. The "free bird" metaphor was not so much as beaten on the head of the hearing at least four times. Well, do: find their own voice, exit, take a chance, blah, blah, blah. Unfortunately, the nature of metaphor handheld broadcast to put an end to the era incredibly unsatisfactory. I found the following items about predicting the points before they happened.
