| I already knew that Meryl Streep is a great actress, even before seeing what many consider his greatest performance as Sophie. I have developed deep admiration for his brilliant portraits of unforgettable characters such as Karen Blixen, Francesca Johnson, and Joanna Kramer, to name a few of my favorites. I am a devoted fan, although the Sophie's Choice film had so much wanted to see kept evading me. Until that day finally came when they saw me they flew her in what was known as a superb performance explosive. Sophie's Choice Streep has increased my admiration for the level of obsession can never reach the mines. There's no way this kind of art range. Streep is the same. |
| This movie: Sophie's Choice is almost perfect, if there is no such thing. Meryl Streep gives her best performance ever as Sophie. In fact, its performance is quite possibly the best Sophie's Choice Romance film acting I've ever seen. (It's really that good.) Plus there are still more - the music, direction, script, actors - all are excellent. Please note that this movie: Sophie's Choice is very moving and tragic, but very well done. You will mourn and laugh - is filled with hope and despair - that will make you appreciate life and understand the pain. |
| This Sophie's Choice movie gave me a very solid 10. Streep's performance is perfection at its best, there is an error made by her throughout the film. Satisfying scenes of romance, passion for life, misery, and joy, allows this film: Sophie's Choice to get a hold of you and not let go until the end, like all great movies should. Other actions are equally great, but it's Streep as "very credible" Sophie to take you by storm. Undoubtedly one of the best films of the 80s. Beware! |
| This is one of my favorite movies of all time .... and absolutely the best actress in all the years since. Streep magnificent e of timing. The "choice" scene was so horrible to me (a young mother of a son and a daughter at the time) it took me several years before I could watch the Sophie's Choice Romance movie without skipping past that part. It is a small stage, but its impact was so disturbing and so horrible - I can not think of any other scene in a Sophie's Choice Romance movie that has affected me so. Kline was also terrible, and the music is beautiful and memorable. Overall, a wonderful film, and a perfect 10 from me. What a talented actress! |
