| Not bad, but not a great movie. For a movie: Blood Diamond that is supposed to be a drama, it was much more on top of action sequences. DiCaprio's accent matter was not credible, Connelly and the ensemble could have been cut from the film. Felt that the Blood Diamond film was teaching so that we are bad people, as if the moviegoer was actually cut the hands of innocents. If the entire story has focused on the nature of DiCaprio, it would have been much better, and the Blood Diamond film have benefited from a little more finesse to get your message through tragic, instead of coming across as a DVD movie Blood Diamond about evil preachy greedy Westerners. |
| After "The Departed", Leonardo DiCaprio once again proves that he has grown up with Blood Diamond. He is fantastic in this Blood Diamond Drama film with an awesome South African accent, and a turbulent past and credible face hard. He excels in that irresistibly vulnerable antihero can not help but root. Jennifer Connelly is perfectly cast as a credible investigative journalist Maddy, and she and DiCaprio superbly acted, badly lacking in chemistry. The heat between them just was not enough to graduate in a sizzle. Directed by Edward Zwick (Courage Under Fire, Legends of the Fall, Glory, Last Samurai), this pseudo-documentary about the conflict diamond trade in Africa, preaching his message effectively, while entertaining the audience. However, Zwick stated in the drama too thick, milking every scene for all too often, with some sequences running too long (sobrang babad). After a while, I thought I was watching LOTR or an episode of Lost. While this is a great way to educate people about a cause, since nothing new was really a DVD movie Blood Diamond making perspective. The story reveals disappointingly safe formulas of Hollywood fashion, a pity when there is so much material, talent and background to exploit further. However, Zwick manages enough to arouse the emotions of the audience enough to be part of their money for admission, and in that sense, this Blood Diamond Drama is a success. |
| I liked ... I liked a lot. Leo has grown. The scenes between the native Africans work very well. The relationship between Leo and Jennifer did not jump off the screen but it works. The Blood Diamond Drama film is exciting, emotional, and provocative. The problem I have with the DVD film Blood Diamond is a logic. There are a couple of times I can not believe the characters would do what the script will be invited to do. If these moments had been withdrawn ... or if Zwick has shown that time from the POV of the characters in order to understand why they were doing what they were doing, it would be a better movie. I gave it an 8 ... but it really is a 7.5. The other thing is that this Blood Diamond film is about something. This is an important policy issue that has often been overlooked. That is what is important about this movie. The item in question. I hope this Blood Diamond Drama movie will create an awareness about the horrible situation in West Africa and the exploitation of its resources and its people. |
| Because I lived in Sierra Leone, in fact in Kono, the diamond mining area of the country for three years, I had to see Blood Diamond as soon as it came out. It is an excellent film. Although not filmed in Sierra Leone, which captures the reality of the country in a remarkable degree. There are a lot of violence in this film, but that violence is functional, realistic, just what happened there. Even manage to convey the fact that people are surprised by this violence as: Sierra Leone used to be one of the safest countries in the world. The Blood Diamond film narrates the facts about conflict diamonds quickly and accurately. DiCaprio's performance is impressive, certainly the best for what I've seen, it's absolutely credible as a white African. Jennifer Connelly's role is much smaller, but she makes the most of it. Djiman Housou has enormous physical presence as the brave Mende fisherman. This Blood Diamond Drama movie is only so much that the few places it departs from reality is totally forgivable. I would recommend this Blood Diamond Drama to everyone, is the best Hollywood DivX Movie Blood Diamond I've seen in years. |
