| Two days after seeing this film, I can not remember a single item, but I'm still happy. And still thinking. This is the kind of DVD film Hairspray that causes so much happiness and thought. And happiness and thoughts are especially welcome in a country that seems unhappy - finally - to be almost ready to leave his Cheneyesque "There's only one way to be good" mindset. It is also true that in the early'60s, the period is shown in this film. I remember very well that time and I'm very anxious to leave behind me a second time. I look forward to a more thoughtful and thorough review, but for now I will offer a bold prediction: John Travolta will be the surprise winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress for her very sweet, fun and simple image Edna! |
| It's been a while since I've enjoyed a Hairspray Musical film adaptation of a Broadway musical, but this Hairspray Musical film is just the ticket. The casting is perfect. I do not often say this about any film, but it would be difficult to find a fine cast. The songs are wonderful, the choreography and direction by Adam Shankman is the spot, with a photograph of a terrible mix soft pastels and bright city origins. Look fast for John Waters' wonderful cameo. If every production that comes from Hollywood and elsewhere had the level of professionalism in this Hairspray film who does not know where to put the money. Or for that matter, the prizes. The Hairspray film also retains enough of the edge of the original DVD movie Hairspray that is not simply a piece of lint. Fun. |
| Have just returned from the premiere and this was an amazing movie. I was not expecting that is comparable to that of Broadway, but it was incredible. The casting was very well done, the games were very well decorated. Costumes were impressive. Travolta is a great Edna. It is definitely worth seeing. Laugh your head funny. Music and performances around the world were in the theater or dance your feet tapping. If you want fun, go see this movie. You will dance all the way home. I think this will be one of the best films of the summer and certainly deserves a few awards. I can not wait to be released to enable him to all my friends and family. |
| Let it be known I approached this Hairspray Musical film as a snob Hairspray. I love the original, John Waters, and I've seen the music scene five times. This Hairspray film hits all the right notes. I've seen it three times, and all feel that is worth an A + in my opinion. The first time I saw him was more like an A-, but on subsequent visits I became more accustomed to the exits that took the stage version, and also was able to understand some dialogue that does not catch the first time. He examined the shortcomings of this DivX film Hairspray and if they are there, that has come before me. Highlights include: Each member of the cast, excellent use of dynamite, true to the version choreographed stage, cutting between Latifah and Pfeiffer in "Big, Blonde and Beautiful" new song "New Girl in Town," and a final is different from the stage version. Stay for the credits to hear the songs cut from the play. Better yet, see the stage version when you have the opportunity for a different fun, but also experience. |
| I have a tendency to ball ... here it seems that the world is full of amateur Hairpray ... but I am not one of them. I loved the 1988 version because it was the camp and on the top and deliciously subversive ... but the last offer is a diluted matter of life that tries to be hard for the next fat and has little or no songs with singalong quality that is vaguely offensive in dealing with serious issues, and basically offers nothing new to the public. I can not remember when Grease came out how everyone rushed to the soundtrack - which was something like a social outcast at school if not the album itself. The same kind of buzz being generated by the soundtrack of Hairspray last? I very much doubt it. The songs are loud, messy, and the lack of originality ... rancid. I loved this DVD movie Hairspray ... I did ... but left the cinema thinking it had lost my time and money. Divine was loud and brash, and offensive camp - Travolta performance is limited and too timid to make his character memorable and attractive. I was looking to see if he would kiss and Chris Walken, but like the rest of this DivX Movie Hairspray diluted, it seems that no one had to eat the balls of their duties with enthusiasm and conviction ... There are a lot of potential to go completely over the top, but each character is by being too afraid of being larger than life ... as if they tried to make the DVD movie Hairspray more harmless it can .. and success. I much preferred the brashy, Trashy versión'88. |
