Surreal character study focusing on the friendship between two male hustlers, Mike and Scott, in Portland, Oregon. They live on the streets, do drugs, and sell themselves to men and women. Mike is quiet, gay and suffers from narcolepsy. Abandoned as a child, he is obsessed with finding his long-lost mother. Scott is the rebellious son of a high-ranking family, who lives this life mostly to embarrass his father. Mike is in love with Scott, who still maintains he is straight and insists that his wild lifestyle on the streets is only temporary. Together, they embark on a quest to find Mike's mother, traveling from Portland to Idaho to Italy, with Scott picking up a beautiful girl along the way.

This is my sincere hope that the My Own Private Idaho film River Phoenix long to be remembered. His performance as the confused and narcoleptic street hustler Mike is so perfect and realistic and touching that makes me mourn all the time. From Gus Van Sant films often have a strange aura about them (see Pharmacy Cowboy, to die for) and has never been more evident than in this "road movie" strangely affecting / drama. The camera-long horizon horizons covering the roads and fast moving clouds, surreal and symbolic shots of homes and rivers run of the movie: My Own Private Idaho with a strange charm almost of another world. Interspersed with the harsh reality of life on the streets of Portland Oregon, in the early 90's, and (still unknown) of Shakespeare. Some of the plots (and Bob Scott, mainly) is based on Shakespeare's play Henry IV (with Keanu Reeves playing the character of Prince Hal Scott, and William Richert played the role of Falstaff as "King-Of-The-Streets Bob.) It is a fascinating, moving and highly successful blend of styles in general. The big issues (the search for love and belonging) are transmitted in a timely and interesting movement. In particular, enjoy the symbolism and pathos of the My Own Private Idaho Drama film suggests flittingly. The performances are uniformly excellent, and this movie: My Own Private Idaho remains one of my favorites of all time. One of the biggest (and most singular) indie films from the 1990s.

For many of us - Idaho - changed everything. I was still in High School when he left the My Own Private Idaho Drama film and, like many of you, I was never the same. But the great script and direction, lighting and camera, (scene of the motorcycle and fire to name a few) there is no doubt that this river is the movie. No disrespect to Van Sant or anyone involved. I realize the My Own Private Idaho Drama movie would not be the same or nearly so perfect without them - especially Gus. The truth is, however, River made this movie: My Own Private Idaho for us all. Never has a DivX Movie My Own Private Idaho so deeply touched us or any person of an unrequited love resonated so deeply. I think I can safely say that I was not the only teenager in the world which have given anything to be on the scene with fire camp River. Although in reality you know? No movies, no actors, no false lights or objects and so far from Hollywood as possible. Just me alone by a river and fire of a million miles away from fear.

"My Private Idaho" is the movie, in my opinion, proved that the real talent of River Phoenix. I was sitting on the couch one night flipping through the channels of the river and saw that she was in and thought "Why not?" Hes a good actor. " This My Own Private Idaho Drama movie absolutely blew me away. His story is sad and heartful abut a child is abandoned and is thrown into a life that should never have fathomed. He has to sell his car to get a meal. This My Own Private Idaho Drama film has touched so many hearts and inspired so many! Rio is not the only great actor Keanu Reeves does a wonderful job of support. His character is a rebel against his father's policy (trying to look bad ... typical teenager!). The river and its ways of the cross and live become traveling companions! This is a My Own Private Idaho Drama film that you will never forget and I think it becomes more powerful as the years. I must say, My Own Private Idaho Drama film lovers really miss River Phoenix. It was a great person and hopefully adchieved everything he wanted.
