| Fun, fascinating, Heart Breaking ... This Music Within Comedy movie has all the elements of human nature, both good and bad, and brings the audience in a poignant way. Rich and Art, through his stubbornness and friendship, to show that with sufficient determination 2 people can make a difference. Anyone who has or knows anyone with a disability should appreciate what these 2 men have done for humans. It also shows that the obstacles facing people with disabilities and the stigma that affects go with him. It breaks down barriers of prejudice after the disability community. The soundtrack is simply stunning, especially for those of us who remember those times in the 60's & 70's. Top rate acting of some actors higher rate. |
| I just saw "The Music" at Palm Springs Film Festival, and what a wonderful DVD movie Music Within it is. Honest, humorous and enlightening. I loved the fact that there is a message stuck in his throat. I never felt manipulated by the filmmaker. This young man (Steven Sawalich) has done a wonderful first film. The performances are really good. Ron Livingston does a great job as lead. Michael Sheen offers dynamite to his time as an art, a couple torn Cerabal Palsey. The wonderful trick pulled him (I guess that with the help of the director) is understandable when the character needed to be and create the illusion still had CP. Another highlight was acting like this crazy Yul Vazquez veterinarian Mike. Virtually every performance was solid. Hector Elizondo plays this perfectly College speech professor. Even Clint Howard and displays results. For a little indie, it seems big and has a large period (50, 60 and 70) feel. No showboating, just. The music selected helps. Is one of those movies you go home, think about calling her friends and the next day to say about it. |
| Richard Pimentel tells his story of being a disabled veteran, and how it was treated when he returned from the war. This Music Within Comedy movie is very relevant to the current political situation, and it is encouraging for those of us going to Iraq or Afhganistan, where the possibility of returning home with disabilities is very high. Knowing that there are people like Richard Pimentel trying to improve the life of any person with disabilities is a wonderful thing. Ron Livingston's performance was right on target. He and Richard and the producer made an appearance in Ft. Hood, TX, promoting the movie, signing autographs and answering questions from soldiers. It was great to see them give their time to talk with soldiers. |
| Having been part of the disability community in Washington, DC, for twenty years, I can say that this Music Within Comedy is truly remarkable in the way it portrays the story and my story of my friends, family members, disability and the community as a whole. This is the story of another civil rights movement. It is quite accurate and gives a brief look at what we are as a community and what led us to evolve and to boost the level playing field to be just enough for people who are blind, deaf, have PC, or any other disability can go to a restaurant and eat pancakes on our birthdays ... Ron Livingston as Richard Pimentel accurately portrays the passion and anger as they struggle with their own lives and as he learns to channel that passion to begin making a difference, not only for itself but for all people. Mr. Livingston also manages to reflect the way Richard, their facial expressions, his speech, particularly his "stage presence." Michael Sheen, who portrays Art Honeyman, draws the audience in and makes us believe that he has CP. Their ability to do this, to really be art, certainly beats an Oscar. I would recommend that everybody is very entertaining and inspiring film. |
| As a Vietnam Vet with similar disabilities may be related to what Richard had to become recognized. The DivX Movie Music Within was fun, but to the point. There should be an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Michael Sheen. I previewed the music within Music Within Comedy film festival in Palm Springs. We asked the actors, director and producer in the performance of the sample. That was very instructive. Richard valadated the historical accuracy of the history and impact of the Americans with Disabilities Presendenal had on the election for George H Bush. ADA was passed in his administration. The impact of Richard disabilitiy recovery and my journey to see the audiologist and now I can hear much better than the VA of the devices. |
| This movie: Music Within is absolutely wonderful. Ron Livingston, Michael Sheen, Yul Vazquez, and in this DVD movie Music Within are unforgettable. Her performances are so real and truthful. Michael Sheen in the transformation of his character, Art, this film: Music Within will leave viewers speechless. The music of this Music Within Comedy is really amazing too. The story is very inspiring and really want to go and make a difference in someone's life. Do not be surprised to see this movie: Music Within get the high profile it deserves. Also, I hope to see more films of this nature that promote the incredible experience that you learn as you watch this movie |
| Wow - I saw this Music Within Comedy movie in the Film Festival of Dallas Int. Won the Audience Award. This film: Music Within had everything. Made me laugh and mourn (tried to hide from that Im an adult male). The story was really great diving and exploring the main character. Ron Livingston was exceptional. I knew little about the disabilities act, so this DVD movie Music Within I really illustrated the difficulties that disabled people have to go. We met the director after the Music Within Comedy film ... young man who is going to have a brilliant career. You have to see this movie. I see at least 5 movies a week and have not seen a more moving story of a long time. The roller coaster of emotions was overwhelming. The final scene back andalusia andalusia restaurant especially moving. |
| I went to the LA screening of this DivX Movie Music Within last night. The director, producer, Ron Livingston, Clint Howard and a few of the crew were there for him. I went in knowing nothing about this Music Within Comedy and say I loved it! It is a great mixture of both drama and hilarious comedy. That teaches you without being preachy and it seemed to fly by. When I wanted more, that something weird lately. Ron did a great job and the rest of the cast, especially Michael Sheen. I think we will hear more about this Music Within movie at the awards time. If not then that is a real shame. In any case, when this Music Within Comedy movie comes out I suggest that for anyone who likes to feel good about life. I know we're going to see it again after it opens. |
